Molar Express Minnesota Chosen As Minnesota Cup Semi-Finalist
Molar Express Minnesota was chosen as one
of 30 semi-finalists in the 2008 Minnesota Cup Competition sponsored
by the University of Minnesota and Wells Fargo. As the only charity
to be chosen in the semi-finalist round, Molar Express Minnesota
staff, board members, and donors were gratified to be selected from
a field of 844 entries.
Chosen on the basis of innovation and breakthrough ideas, mobile
dental delivery service was identified as an innovative way to approach
dental access for low-income children and is a much needed service
in our community.
Competing for the Minnesota Cup allowed a diverse, results-focused
team to refine and strengthen the Molar Express business plan to
improve our ability to meet the dental needs of low-income children.

A Tour is Worth a Thousand Words!
This summer, the vehicle manufacturer of the
Molar Express Minnesota dropped by the Twin Cities with a fully equipped
mobile dental vehicle bound for another market. The first stop was
the Capitol, where several legislators dropped by to kick the tires.
Before heading out to MEM’s Minnetonka headquarters, the vehicle then
stopped for an informal focus group with more than 35 kids attending
Urban Ventures Leadership Foundation summer programs. The kids were
amazed and asked great questions. One 9-year-old girl was so excited
she exclaimed, “I think I’m going to be a dentist!” Now that’s progress.
Stay tuned for an announcement about when the Twin Cities vehicle
will be delivered. To contribute to our capital campaign, contact
